AI and social media

AI and social media.

WILL AI TAKE OVER THE WORLD?

There is no doubt that AI has become a major part of our lives. The question on many people's minds, including here in our office, is how much artificial intelligence will actually impact the future—both in the labor market and in our daily lives. Let's dive a little deeper into this bittersweet phenomenon.

AI for marketing purposes

‍

Studies show that the AI market is expected to see significant growth, and by now, over 56% of companies are already using marketing automation tools. But that’s hardly news, is it?

It’s been a hot topic for several months (years!), but by early 2023, we saw a clear increase in how we can use various AI programs to improve or simplify our workflows. Some of us are thrilled, others are terrified.

‍

So, what are the downsides?

‍

As with many things, there are flaws with AI. For marketing purposes, for example, it can be difficult for an AI program to draw lines regarding prejudice and discrimination, or to strike a balance between human and automated work. AI also relies on the data fed into its systems, which can lead to inaccurate results if that data is limited.

The biggest challenge we can likely agree on is the personal and authentic experience, which is, and will always be, necessary for humans—whether they are thrilled or terrified.

The idea that AI will take over the world is, according to research, completely exaggerated. However, collaboration between robots and humans will increase and will be necessary for future development. And hold onto your hat—the combination is said to be... unbeatable.

Content is the new targeting

AI has become an integral part of how ads are displayed, and platforms like Meta are handling an increasing amount of audience targeting on their own. This means the algorithm learns from how candidates actually behave—what they click on, engage with, and ignore. The shift is therefore moving from "who do we want to reach?" to "what makes the algorithm understand what works?".

LinkedIn P4P – part of a smarter recruitment strategy. At SMW Group, we have previously worked with LinkedIn's Premium Jobs solution. It is now being replaced by LinkedIn P4P, a model with an even stronger focus on performance and precision. This shift aligns well with how we already work. Successful recruitment is about reaching the right candidates, in the right place, at the right time. LinkedIn P4P is a powerful tool in that effort.
